The Portugal Talks is a think-action tank committed to feasibility, impartiality, pragmatism and objectivity. We carry the aim of transforming Portugal by compiling and organizing proposals from civil society, with the ultimate goal of suggesting and putting forward concrete forms of action and reforms.
With emphasis on the word “action”, Portugal Talks will devise practical solutions to the most relevant problems of the Portuguese political life, creating a real impact on the lives of all Portuguese people.
Each edition of the Portugal Talks will be devoted to a specific topic, developed by a scientific committee and a working group that, over the course of two years, will suggest concrete forms of action and reforms at the level of public policies. Our aim is to contribute to national progress in key areas.
Portugal Talks is a Think-Action tank, organized by the Estoril Institute for Global Dialogue, in partnership with the Tourism Association of Cascais , which promotes a biannual discussion and action meeting, aimed at the politically interested civil society.
Permanent structure in charge of enforcing the mission of the project. The Strategic Council choses the topic to be addressed in every edition as well as the members of the respective Scientific Committee, seeking to incorporate the finest experts (academics, businessmen, etc.)
The Scientific Commission lays down the concept paper, outlines the program and determines, together with the Strategic Council, the composition of the working by bringing together the best experts on the field.
The Working Group comprises the experts that will work on the topic, producing diagnosis, compiling updated data and, in the end, drafting the final proposals that will also acknowledge the outputs of the meeting.
A discussion-debate that brings together both national and international experts, gathers input and delivers scientific and political knowledge on the relevant topic.
Final Session
A symbolic session where the final paper is publicly disclosed and presented.
